Please join your fellow colleagues for the next Education Event organized and presented by the NESHMM Education Committee:

    Date:  Wednesday, April 3, 2024
    Time:  8:00am - 12:30pm
    Location:  Stonehill College,
    124 Belmont St. Easton, MA

A complimentary continental breakfast is being made available by NESHMM and our friends at Stonehill College.

    Session Details:

Session #1: Outlook on the Healthcare Supply Chain - Mixed panel of Healthcare Supply Chain Professionals to address students and early career professionals with insights into the profession, where the industry is headed and what skills are valuable.

Session #2“Jerks At Work” was a well received presentation given at AHRMM 2023. Resistant personalities are a hurdle for any organization but should never be a barrier for engagement.  Difficult team members and their personalities can be nurtured, not avoided; stimulated, not drained; met with curiosity, not judgment.  Leaders can transform apathy by transforming their own approach to these complications. Recognizing cognitive distortions is challenging, but once you’re aware of the different types you can begin to interrupt and defuse them.  Declarative statements in facilitation creates a diatribe, not a dialogue; asking questions creates a discussion.  High performing teams have a strong alignment to their drive: the connection between autonomy, mastery, and purpose.

This presentation is graciously given by Michael Cavanaugh, who will be with us at Stonehill to present on this fun topic. Michael is the Change Management Lead for Supply Chain with Stanford Health.

We are pleased to offer Continuing Education Credits (CEC) for participation.  Attendance will yield 1 credit per session (2 total CEUs if attending both) which can be applied towards the renewal of CMRP Certification.

All visitors should check in at the main gate. There will be signage guiding attendees to a parking lot for NESHMM members.

This year’s event will take place in the same location as last year: The Martin Institute. The building is located close to the College’s front entrance on Route 123 (Belmont Street). If handicapped parking or transportation from the parking lot to the building is needed please let us know ahead of time.

GPS instructions to get to campus are here: https://www.stonehill.edu/plan-your-visit/directions-campus-map/ At this link, you can also download a copy of the campus map.

On the map, the Sally Blair Ames parking lot just below building A6 is where NESHMM members should park. There will then be a short walk through the woods (signage will be posted) over to Building C14 (Martin Institute).

    Best,

    NESHMM Education Committee
